Menstrual Hygiene Products

Being a Sunday, let's talk about a new topic, which is Menstrual Hygiene products today.
I know that many of you, including both boys and girls, are partially/totally unaware about menstrual hygiene and related products.

There are 3 major products which are used for menstrual hygiene:
1. Sanitary Napkin, which is extremely popular than others
2. Menstrual Cup
3. Tampon

Disposable Cotton Sanitary Napkins at Rs 1.6/piece | Jankipuram ...Sanitary napkins available in the market belong to the category of non-biodegradable products as they are mostly made of synthetic materials that contain toxic chemicals. Also, they have a very short life cycle and are used only once. The cost of such a basic necessity is relatively high now! There are many other issues like frequent changing napkins, unnecessary rashes, incorrect size, etc.

Biodegradable sanitary napkins are also available in the market, but most ladies are not aware of them, so never tried, and if tried, don't mostly prefer them due to risk involved due to low absorption and leakage, but in fact, they are more environment-friendly.

Menstrual Cups: How to Use, Benefits, and MoreA menstrual cup is another product that most ladies are completely unaware of. It is an intrauterine device (IUD). It has several advantages over sanitary napkins. It is made of bio-friendly materials like silicon and is completely free of toxicity and hence doesn't affect the skin post usage. It is completely reusable and hence complete environment-friendly. Also, its use time is much higher, unlike sanitary napkins, so it reduces worries.

New York City to provide free tampons and pads in public schools ...A tampon is just another product that functions similar to sanitary napkin but the only difference is that it is also an IUD. So, overall, it needs to be changed frequently plus it's also not reusable. It only reduces worries related to rashes to some extent. Those who use tampons, sometimes also use sanitary napkins for extra precaution.

From the above comparison, you must have understood that menstrual cups serve a very good purpose and should be recommended and promoted over sanitary napkins. I would request the ladies to read more about these topics and choose a better alternative for a good cause!

Thanks for reading.
